Welcome

Four Seasons Bonsai Club, of Michigan

Bonsai is a difficult hobby to learn on your own. Horticulturally, bonsai need specialized care that differs from most other potted plants. Artistically, they come from an (at least) 1,400 year-old heritage. No one can know it all. No one can be an expert at every species, every established style. Books can only take you so far. Whether you’re looking for long-term help to increase your bonsai skills or just want to attend a single meeting for a bit of advice, Four Seasons Bonsai Club is here to help. (But if you do decide to join the club, it’s the best way to learn.) We have several members that are experts in different aspects of bonsai, different species and each is willing to share their advice. We are committed to being beginner-friendly but still delve into expert techniques. Each month’s program is unique; a presentation, demonstration or hands-on workshop set up by club volunteers. There really is something for everyone.

If you’d like to attend one of our meetings, check our schedule page and our latest newsletter for more information on the next program, date & time, etc. We meet at Bordines Nursery, in Rochester Hills, and we’re very grateful for their support (Telly’s Greenhouse, in Troy, is also a great place to buy bonsai.)!

We encourage guests at our meetings, so if you’re unsure about joining the club, don’t let that keep you away. Drop by one of our meetings and see what club membership is all about. Hope to see you there!
